Cell Biology – the study of cell structures in living organisms such as plants and animals. Cells in living organisms are a key part of the body’s biochemical processes; however, scientists do not know how these cells are structured and how they work together to accomplish cellular tasks.
Endocrine Systems – this area of study is concerned primarily with the regulation of hormones in living organisms. Endocrine glands control the different functions of the different organs of the body by secreting hormones. When the hormones produced by the endocrine glands are not properly regulated, certain health conditions may occur.
Neuromuscular – this area of study deals mainly with the nervous system. This includes the nervous system’s ability to transfer signals from one part of the body to another. Some scientists believe that the nervous system also controls the development and function of muscles, bones, blood vessels and organs.
Skeletal – the field of anatomy also covers the study of structures that form the skeletal system. This includes the bones that make up a person’s skeleton, as well as the joints of that person.
Developmental Biology – this field focuses on the study of cellular structures and genes that cause disease in living organisms. Many scientists believe that genes play an important role in determining how much damage occurs in living organisms.
Molecular Biology – this area of study is concerned primarily with understanding the mechanisms involved in making and breaking down living substances. Scientists have been able to successfully isolate and study the structures and functions of living organisms using a variety of biological methods.
Different subjects of study within the field of anatomy include the following: developmental biology, endocrinology, immunology, microbiology, cell biology, molecular biology, neurology molecular pathology and physiology. All of these subjects have contributed greatly to our knowledge of how the body works and how it functions.
The study of anatomy has helped to further the field of medical research work. As such, there are many professional organizations throughout the world that conduct research on the different subjects of study listed above. These organizations have been known to publish journals that feature articles written by their members. Additionally, many medical students and professionals are able to gain valuable information regarding the various aspects of the subjects of study through reading these publications.
Many medical professionals have dedicated themselves to this field of research work in recent years. There are many areas of medicine where the study of anatomy is extremely important, and these areas include cancer research, cardiovascular research, endocrine research and the study of the brain.
Medical professionals can get valuable information from these types of publications by learning more about how the body functions in various situations. Additionally, they can learn more about diseases that affect the human body such as cancer and Alzheimer’s Disease.
As mentioned before, there are also many educational and informational books that are available that are written for medical professionals that will help them learn more about the different areas of anatomy and what is involved with specific parts of the body. These types of books often explain the importance of the different structures and functions that are involved with specific parts of the human body.
While learning about the body is a wonderful way to learn about anatomy, there is more than one way to learn about the structure and function of the various parts of the body. A course that is offered by a school or a medical professional will provide medical professionals with a great foundation that they can use as they study various parts of the body.
