There are currently three accredited universities that offer the D.C. Drafting Exam. The most popular of these is George Washington University. This university offers students who have completed their four-year degree in Architecture an undergraduate program in drafting. There are also online D.C. Drafting courses at George Washington University. However, the D.C. Council has encouraged residents to take the Council’s own exam instead of taking the George Washington University course.
The D.C. Drafting Exam will consist of a number of topics related to drafting, including construction and design, architecture, land surveys, building codes and other pertinent issues. The exam will have about two thousand questions. In addition to the written portion, each student will be required to present their work in front of a panel of judges consisting of one doctor of architecture and one former judge. The exam will include several projects that the student will have to complete in order to pass.
The exams can be taken by students at any time. Students who wish to take the D.C. Drafting Exam should apply for an appointment with their advisor as soon as possible. The Council will have to see that the student has all of their coursework completed before they will grant them an exam.
Students who have taken the exam and received a passing grade will be eligible for an interview with the Council. After the interview, students will be able to decide if they wish to take the Council’s full certification or a certificate. The latter comes with more benefits, but is also more expensive.
A certification will be required for students who want to become an architect. An architect must take a test and pass a written exam before he or she is given the title and license to practice his or her craft. Architects who obtain certification will usually require additional study to qualify for the exam.
The DC Drafting Exam will be held twice each year, once in February and once in July. The exam will be offered for a specified number of hours each day. The deadline for taking the exam is four days before the start of classes for students to start their four-year degree program. Those students who want to become architects should contact their advisor to arrange for a meeting the exam.
Before a student takes the D.C. Drafting Exam, he or she should research the institution offering the course. It is important to make sure that the course is accredited by the Council. Students who are unable to meet these criteria may want to consider attending an accredited four-year degree program.
The examination is divided into several sections. In each section, students will be required to create a floor plan, an outline for construction, and a design for a project. In addition to the project, students will also be required to conduct a number of surveys. This survey information will help determine where the project should go, how it will be used, how much money the project will cost, and other issues associated with the project.
During the design phase of the exam, students will be required to design an architectural plan, draft the design, and complete the analysis. There will also be numerous project samples, including ones that will illustrate the plan or the design and will demonstrate the results of the analysis.
At the design phase, students will be required to analyze the cost, materials and schedule for the project. They will need to be able to evaluate the amount of space needed and determine the feasibility of the project. Students will also need to write a report about the project and present their findings in front of a panel of judges, the Council, or an instructor.
At the development stage, students will be expected to develop the costs of the project, estimate the building’s life-cycle cost, and submit the final design. In addition to the design and cost aspects of the study material, students will need to present an analysis based on the survey data and discuss other issues that are associated with the project. The exam is very involved, but it will be well worth the time and effort to prepare properly.
