Taking the Technical Exam

Candidates who have successfully completed a technical exam for a federal job are entitled to a post-certification exam after graduation, called Post Graduation Exams (PGE). If you plan on taking an examination in the near future, check out these tips to help you pass your exam quickly and easily.

To begin with, the most important thing to remember is that a technical exam for a federal job is a serious test and requires preparation. There will be very little time for rest or relaxation during the exam.

Also, take into consideration that you will not have much time to prepare for the technical exam, which will most likely be a one-hour test that involves no previous knowledge of the area of study. So if you have not studied for or taken any other exam before, it’s best to consult a professional before taking the exam.

As always, preparing for a technical exam is the first step in doing well. You must know what questions you will be answering and know the answers to those questions. This also includes knowing how to demonstrate those answers to the testing personnel.

Before you begin the process of studying, you need to have a list of all the areas that you are interested in learning. Don’t just put down a list and pick the first subject you see. Research the subject matter thoroughly and write down the areas that you wish to understand better.

After you have written down the subjects that you want to examine, you will need to study those areas more carefully than any other. To help you along, use the Power Index Technique. This is used in many standardized tests, such as the GRE, to measure the difficulty of a question and provide a guide that can aid you throughout your study.

When studying for a technical exam, don’t just study the area of study that interests you the most. It might interest you more to learn about the computer industry than the FAA, but you will not be able to answer any questions concerning the FAA without first reading a comprehensive book about the FAA. Once you know about the different areas of the FAA, then study the areas of study that interest you have chosen.

Finally, don’t wait until the last minute to take the exam. Many students wait until the last minute to complete their application because they don’t think they have time to study for the exam. By taking the exam a few months ahead of the actual exam date, you will increase your chances of passing.

Finally, you should be prepared to take the test with a notebook and pen. Although the tests will be based on a specific method, it doesn’t mean you should copy the method on your notebook. Take notes on the different areas of the exam, and practice answering the questions that you know before you even take the test.

The most important thing to remember is that it is best to prepare for the exam. If you do not practice enough beforehand, then you will be more apt to forget the information you need and that will make you more likely to fail the exam.

The exam will usually be administered by an instructor or by an outside agency. The teacher or agency will ask you to complete some form or another prior to the test to give you a paper to take to pass out to the testing personnel. This is not a time to take the paper and go home and start practicing.

After you have a test to take, study ahead of time and complete the test well before the test date. Then the exam will be more manageable and you will not have to worry about taking all day to prepare for it.

There is nothing wrong with taking the technical exam if you’re already well-versed in the areas you’re going to be tested on. However, you still need to practice what you are going to learn, so don’t wait until the last minute. It might seem like the more logical approach, but the worst thing is to get nervous and procrastinate on studying for it.
