It would be extremely irresponsible to sign up for a job that has no knowledge of your particular field. Some companies will only offer job descriptions, not full time employment, so it’s important to know what your options are.
Check into the experience level of the company. A large company with hundreds of employees may have more experience with the specific field you’re looking for than a smaller company with just a few employees. A company with years of experience might also have the resources to hire staff the position for you, which may mean less stress, less money, and a higher paycheck.
Look into how long the company has been in business. Many companies will say they’ve been in business for over 30 years, but this is a misleading statement. A company that has been around for decades probably means they’ve been in business for awhile. In addition to education and experience, you also want to make sure they’re a good team and have a good attitude. Many people who work in CAD design are also computer professionals in their own right. If a company doesn’t treat their workers well or feels like they don’t belong, you’ll feel like you’re working for a company that’s just out to get you as quickly as possible.
Ask for references and don’t need to hear them. This is an unfortunate trait among many people who apply for jobs. Many people who apply are often required to come back to interview the company and can’t remember details of previous positions and responsibilities they had.
Instead, ask about the current job description, the hours, and pay, and other job duties. offered, and the company’s rules of conduct. Once again, it’s up to you to research these details before deciding whether or not to accept.
